Women’s Beanpot Tournament Announces Latest Hall of Fame Honorees

A special group of talented women’s hockey players will be inducted into the Women’s Beanpot Hall of Fame between games on Tuesday, February 7, at Boston College’s Conte Forum. This year’s honorees, as chosen by the four competing schools, are:

PhotoMary Restuccia, Boston College ‘12

Restuccia made her mark on BC Beanpot History by scoring the game-winning goal and earning MVP honors in the 2011 Beanpot which was captured by the Eagles. (BC also won in 2009.) A talented forward, she was on the 2009 Hockey East All-Rookie Team and was a second team All Hockey East selection in 2011, her junior year. A native of West Chester, PA, she captained the Eagles as a senior in 2012. She is currently a clinical research manager at Ralexar Therapeutics.


PhotoAbby Cook, Boston University ‘20

Cook led the Terriers to the Beanpot title game in each of her final three seasons and played a major role in the Terriers’ championship in 2019. She had a line of 2-5-7 in the three tournaments but came up big by setting up both the game-tying and game-winning goals in the 2019 Beanpot final. A native of Kelowna, BC, Cook, a defender, had a +5 rating in her Beanpot career and blocked 18 shots, including seven in the 2018 final. She is currently playing professionally in Switzerland for Lugano.


PhotoEmerance Maschmeyer, Harvard University ‘16

Maschmeyer had a 5-3 record in four Beanpot tournaments, enjoying unique success in 2015 when Harvard raised the Beanpot. She became the only goalie in the Beanpot to win both the MVP and the Bertagna Award (top goalie) since the latter was first given in 2000. A native of Bruderheim, Alberta, her four-year Beanpot stats: 2.81 GAA and .914 save percentage. She won a gold medal for Canada at the 2022 Olympics, and she now plays for Montreal in the PWHPA.


PhotoFiona Rice, Northeastern ‘90

Rice knew nothing but success as the Huskies won four Beanpot titles during her four years at NU. A native of Mississauga, ON, Rice was named Tournament MVP in 1987 when she had a hat trick in the final. She played 103 games for Northeastern as a forward, compiling a line of 63-118-181. She was inducted into the NU Hall of Fame in 2021.
